I got a new shadow. I had to get rid of the other one... It wasn't doing what I was doing.

You might want to check under that post.
One of my students told me they tore out section of fence that his grandfather put in during the depression. They were yanking the posts out with the loader and one broke off so they had to hand dig it out. They hit a can at the bottom of the hole and wouldn't you know it had $500 in the can. So then they discovered a can under every post in that fence line. He wouldn't tell me the total.
Everyone I know that went through the depression hid cash in the most unlikely places.

Dad used to tell about one of their neighbors accusing my grandpa of stealing the money that he had buried in the cow yard. After much arguing, Grandpa took the guy back to the cow yard and threatened to beat him with the spade if he didn't remember where he had buried the money.

The old man thought for awhile and then paced off the cow yard in two directions. He put the spade in the ground and hit the buried can of money!
