Rock picking bucket questions

Does anyone have experience with using a rock bucket on their FEL?

I"m looking at 2 different styles, one with hardened rods and one that has steel slats. Does one work better than the other?

We have used the rod type ones with the hump built in the rods about 8" back. On a MFD cab tractor it is difficult to see what you are picking.
Bought one for the 1845 Case skidsteer (same design) and you can cover any field in a third of the time it took with the tractor.
We have never bent them like we used to bend the basket on a offset pull type picker.

I have one of the rod type ones for my skid loader. Works great, amazing how many acres you can do in a few hours. I have slightly bent a few of the rods digging out rocks as big as the bucket (6ft bucket) but it still works well and the rocks are gone! I have heard the slat type don't have the durability of the rod type but don't know for sure.
 

A friend has one of the type that the Acg has. His son-in-law has not been able to damage it significantly in ten years.

It sounds like the rod type is definitely the standard. For our subcompact tractor, the rod type would cost me $1200, the flat-steel type would cost about $600. Without a strong argument against it, I"m leaning toward the less expensive version because it"s half the price.
