Weather Channel

Anyone else notice that the weather channel is not too good with weather anymore? They used to have "Local on the eights" with satellite maps. Now it is just stuff to read and the tiny map shows a smaller area than a good look out the back window. Couldn't use that tiny info to plan hay baling.

If you're baling now, you're too late.....

I use 'NWS' on the computer and loop it for the current weather, and just a local channel for a longer range outlook. Seems to work pretty good. Back years ago, I found out that I could really lose some hay watching the weather channel.

Sad to say but Time Warner had a much better weather channel.

For us in Central, Ohio..we can get better Radar images if we use Richmond, Ind as a "Home City"..

Ron.

I watch in the morning before work. They rush through the forecast so fast, the weather girl cant talk as fast as the screens that she points at change. We hurry up and get through the forecast so we can check in on the global warming and the politics. Oh well.....

Most of the weather girls here in Phx just went through an exercise of "bulging belly" disease, so they are all looking neat and trim now - until the next epidemic comes around again.

noaa.gov. real weather all the time put in your zip code, and with the maps (scroll down) you can be spot on. Jim

I am glad someone else has noticed! When it says weather on the 8's, the next frame announces "National Weather headlines".

They screwed up.

Yup, I don't know which bothers me more, the Weather Chanel not doing weather, the History Chanel not doing history or the Military Chanel mot doing military stuff. Last week the Military Chanel was doing religious history and organized crime. Huh? What ever happened to "Wings" and "Great Planes"?

I don't even watch it anymore. Haven't in several years now. It's just the weathertainment/globull warming channel. Has nothing in the world to do with forecasting the weather anymore.
Somebody really should start a weather channel on TV.

check out the Mexico weather girls

I haven't used weather channel in decades. I use MSN home page, go to local weather, get radar, hour by hour and many days in advance. Don't have to wait for the 8's.

For some reason it really irritates me that they've started naming these winter storms like they are hurricanes. All about ratings I guess but I rarely watch them any more.

www.wunderground.com works really good for me.....get the radar with the google maps overlay.....Very accurate. I pay 5.25/year to NOT get the advertizing.

rrlund beat me to it, they have a political and entertainment agenda. They do have some nice weather babes though.
