Upstate NY guys - Log Truck...

Hey guys from upstate NY,
I am located near the Duanesburg/Amsterdam area - not far from JayinNY.
Does anyone have any contact info for someone with a log truck with a picker? I have been on this for 3 weeks and can not find someone with a truck who will call me back.
The bigger the truck, the better, need them for one local haul, 25 miles and am willing to pay good cash. Looking to move from Broadalbin area to Duanesburg area.
I just can not seem to find someone with a truck and a phone that works.
Help!

There must be some that stop in at the diner from time to time. There are always trucks in the yard when I stop there.

I know of two log trucks here in southern Cayuga county. Have no idea if they will travel that far.

Another idea- go on the Case forum, if you have to, to get Loren's attention. He must know someone over that way.

Inquire at one of your local tree service outfits. Most of them here (Rochester area) have a 10 wheeler with a log grapple. And my recent experience is they are delighted to haul logs for cash!

I was going to mention S.M. Gallivan out of Troy, I just saw one of his rigs with a log trailer, but I cannot recall if there was a log grapple on the trailer, he mainly uses low boys,hauling equipment dump trailers, and or flow boys, as well as other things similar for bulk hauling. I'll attach the link to the website, you may find someone closer, but like the etiquette so commonly exhibited on this site and an attempt to help, figured its worth a mention. I've known him for many years and have hired them a few times, always prompt service, you would have to call and see. I'd also speak with local saw mills, if you have cash on hand and its a simple haul, someone should want the job. You may pay portal to portal, but if that's what it takes to get the job done...

I have put probably a dozen calls in and have yet to hear back from anyone...I just dont get it...typically this ia perfect situation to make a few extra, cash only bucks.
I have been keeping my eye out lately and havent seen a single one either...
driving me nuts.

Well as close as Steve and Jay are to me, I have never met them. Jay and I have talked about a meeting, but it never happened.
We will have to set a date at the D-Diner for an extended breakfast.

December may be the first one of Jim's auctions I will miss in the last 13 years...
I dont know if you remember me mentioning this, but the wife was pregnant, due with a boy in late Dec.
He came 12 weeks early, so we have been at albany med since october 10...he is doing well and will probably be home in early Dec...no iddea what my schedule will be...but I may actually miss an auction...
Anyway...since the baby came so early...my firewood supply is short and that is why I am looking to haul some wood...
out o curiosity...do you have a dump trailer that you can pull behind your dump truck?
Hows the family?
You see how many beefers they have at highcliff now?

Congrats on the baby! I didet know about that. No I don't have a dump trailer. I can ask a guy i know that has a small dump truck he deals in firewood, if your interested?
