JD 2940 Hydralics

I posted a few days back and used most of the advice I received. Thanks.
There is a fitting on the right side of the hydralic pump, behind it it has an o ring. I removed the fitting and replaced the o ring but it still was leaking fluid at the base of this fitting. I thought maybe the steel tube that runs from the pump to the rear of the tractor was cracked-the nut was a bit difficult to turn. I replace that and it still leaks. Could it be a crack in the hydralic pump housing? How much work is it to remove and replace the pump if it is cracked? What will it cost me if I have the JD guys fix it? Just looking for a safe cheap option-I have the tractor sold just need to get it running right.

Unless you sold it with a warranty or some stipulation about condition just let it go. It would have been sold as is so then no warranty implied. Let the buyer deal with it.

I would guess incorrect o-ring installation vs cracked hyd pump casing. Is o-ring you're replacing on elbow connection(parts key #7)? I've seen similar fittings installed incorrectly several times. The correct way to install is back nut away from washer so o-ring can be installed on fitting without touching washer then install fitting so as to line up with hyd line then snug nut against washer so as washer compresses o-ring.

All things are possible. That fitting/o-ring is fairly straight-forward to install. Does your tractors hyd pump have serial number plate? Serial number hyd pumps were a replacement pump.
