The Best Cap

Have had a cap for over ten years, used it, abused it. It has been soaked by rain, snow and sweat. Have often been running a chain saw and had sweat run down the bill. Deformed it to stay on when going down the road at Farmall speed. It is discolored, has a B&O emblem. Made by Fletcher, Barnhardt & White of Charlotte, NC. Wonder if they are still in business?

If you do a Google search, you will find several companies under that name, in several cities. Likely they are all basically the same company. Most of them are in industrial and business research, as well as advertising. Which may account for the name being on the label of your cap. Other than that I have no idea where you might find another like it. My ex-son-in-law, (I call him something else now, but it also begins with son,) gave me a new cap he bought from Tractor Supply about five years ago, he didn't like it, and I have had very good service from it. I don't know how many times I have washed it in the laundry and it still wears good.

the best cap ? A FREE ONE , I wash mine too and put it on a tupperware bowl to form it as it drys
(I have a BIG head )I have quite a collection of caps ( my cleaning lady calls them HATS)

I went into the MFA store to buy a 1/2 ton of feed. I was wearing an Orcheln's cap. While the employee and I were loading my truck, the salesman came out with a shiny new MFA cap and gave it to me.

Hmmm.... I wonder if I took my Farmall up to Sydenstrickers if they'd give me a shiny new John Deere?

Know a guy that wore an old beat up JD cap to the New Holland dealership. Gave him a new NH cap but made him "trade in" his JD cap.

All my best hats have been K-brand. They fit very well and wear well. Used to have some good ear lapper hats from them. Have not seen any of those in 10+ years.

Now all they make are dork hats that you have to flatten the bill to make it fit on your head and there is no room for ventilation for your head.

My Iowa Hawkeyes rowing cap. My Daughter rows for the university of Iowa. I had the cap custom made at a mall. It has the tiger hawk emblem on front and says Iowa Rowing. On the back it says Allison's Dad.

A couple years ago, I wore my Orscheln's hat into TSC. They gave me a new TSC hat, which I wore into Orscheln's and got a new Orscheln's hat....

I have well over 100 caps. New and old. Some I have to be careful where I wear them. Such as FAA, State Patrol, NRA, Also have a few Western Hats. One is a hat made for my Granddad. Another one is one made from Alpaca and Rabbit.

For caps, anything with "OLIVER" on them, but my normal wear is a Stetson straw hat with a 4-1/2" brim. Can't beat it 'cause it was made with purpose... I can go out in a downpour and not get a drop of rain down the back of my neck or two drops on my glasses. I can bale hay all day ion the hot summer sun and my bottom lip will not fall off from sunburn the next day and it's real good at swattin flys and chasin bees and wasps away! Disadvantages: workin in a tight place or "under anything!"

K-brand, made in Iowa. Still a real good hat, but like everything else, not as good as they were 20 year's ago. You can wash them many times and they are still good to wear, only faded.

I took my grandson to Empire Tractor in Cortland a few years ago and he wore his John Deere hat. My son who was the parts man there brought him a NH hat and told him he couldn't wear the JD hat in there.
