hydraulic question

I have a power angle plow from a truck (all single acting cylinders) I am putting it in my tractor(Ford 600) with a front mount pump and control valves for a loader (double acting cylinders) I can get power beyond off my loader valve. The plow control valve (older fisher valve) has small ports than the loader valve. Is there any way I could plumb the plow control valve into the loader hydraulics so I will have lift and power angle? The loader valve has 1/2" pressure line in - the plow valve has 3/8" pressure line in. Will the reduction in pressure line cause an issue? Thanks for your help.

reduction in line size will not in and of itself cause a problem in your case.

in fact. you may WANT a restrictor orifice too. a loader pump is high volume. you may find that blade functions like a switch blade knife with the volume of a loader pump...

just make sure it is an OC valve..

If you restrict the flow too much the oil will heat up. The power beyond flow is actually the return to tank flow from the open center valve.

It will work fine. I have an old plow like that, mounted on the front of an 806 tractor. We run 1/2 inch lines to connect with the little 1/4 inch lines for the power angle. Works just fine. It does move a bit faster according to a neighbor when he saw the movement. We run it off the SCV on the back.

Will an adjustable flow control valve allow me to reduce the flow to the plow valve and the rest back to the tank? Or some other type of valve? Thanks

Yes, put the restrictor in the line to the cylinder, not in the main one going through the valve.

Then you will only restrict the flow while the plow is turning, not all the time.
