where can I get a head gasket,,6 cylinder diesel ?
don't know what motor it is, was told it was a 636 Dancer truck motor.

I think you mean a 363 CID. Definitely not a 636. I never heard of Dancer, but have heard of Dorset and Dagenham.

You might want to scroll down the discussion Forums to the Ford forum and ask your question there. I thought the 6000 had a 200+ cubic inch Ford engine.

It is a Ford built industrial or truck engine at 223 cu in. I have no idea what Dancer is.

The Ford 6000 gas engine is the old 223cid auto engine used in cars and pick-up trucks. The 6000 diesel is 242 cubic inches using a stroked 223 converted to diesel.

The ford 223 gasket should work. This (yesterdays tractor)website shows parts for the ford 6000, including gaskets. Click on the Ford parts link at the top of one of the pages and this site.

The gas and LP motor in the 6000 is 223 cu in

But the diesel is a 241.7 cu in (242) (4.0 L) 6 cylinder motor.
Ford used a Dorset 4.0 (242 cu. in) diesel motor in their P-3500/4000/5000 trucks from about the same time frame. One BIG problem is the Dorset 4.0 was a 4 cylinder motor.
