There is a lever to the right of the seat down along the frame of the tractor. You can see it pictured to the right of the dipstick. What does this lever control/operate?

Also, I was lead to believe this tractor has live pto, but it seems I have to step on the clutch to engage the pto without grinding the gears. I've heard something about possibly having a single stage or two stage clutch. Have to look into this. Just want verification on how I determine if this is or isn't live pto. So far it seems like it is not. Have to look into this single or double stage clutch aspect yet.

I will add that this tractor does have a 3 point hitch. This is not the lever that controls that. Those controls are higher up

Two stage clutch = Live PTO. Push the clutch pedal down half way to stop the ground travel and shift gears. Push it down all the way to engage, disengage or stop the PTO. Sounds like you are trying to operate it as if it had Independent PTO. I have no idea what that lever is for. What is the other end connected to?

Yes, I was thinking it had an independent live pto. Will check into the single/ dual stage clutch part of things.
That lever is controlling something that goes right in the transmission/ differential area. I'm not sure if this controlling hydraulic flow or pressure perhaps. Can't be anything for the flow of the front end loader because that pump runs off the front or the crankshaft and that whole hydraulic system seems external to the tractor itself. I haven't played with it yet. Was wanting to know what it does before I fooled around with it. Was thinking it must have something to do with either the PTO or the 3 point hitch?
