I guess Steiner found that 66 and pan scraper in a fencerow somewhere from the way I hear it.

saw that big wheel trike at Portland, Ind. this summer. Not so unusual, I got a couple of these old 2 wheel garden tractors, made this sulky, it's a fun toy.

When I was a kid, the neighbor had an old David Bradley walking tractor something like that. Pop had a roller that he had used when he built our home and had used it to roll the lawn when I was a kid. But, he left the water ballast in it one year, and it froze the bearings apart. So, a friend with a welder came over, we beat the ends back in, put the bearings back together, then filled it with concrete. Jack then welded a long tongue on it, and we used the seat off a dead Springfield mower for the roller. The walking tractor is long gone, but I still have the roller and seat, and have shortened the tongue to pull behind my lawn tractor. The grandkids still fight to ride on it when I roll the lawn.....

I wish I had a picture of the lawn mower that we bought at the sale in Archbold years ago. It was a push mower, but there was a belt that ran from a pulley under a cover above the blade that ran another shaft and pulley behind the motor. That pulley was on a hollow shaft. There was a cart that went behind it that had something similar to a tie rod end for a hitch. The pin on that went in to the center of that shaft. There was a twisted v belt that went to the axle on the cart. When you wanted it to go,you stepped on a pedal that tightened the belt and you had a self propelled/riding lawn mower. You didn't stand up like these big commercial things you see,it had a seat. This thing wasn't more than 26 inch cut maybe. The thing was factory made.

The pan scraper reminded me of a Ford 2-N Scraper at a show. The machine was built for military WW2. Would fit in a landing craft. Most were not brought back after the war. joe
