When I think bsck as to how tough my parents had it, I think they did a good job raising my brother, sister and me.
I try to live my life in a way that they would be proud of.

I recieved a lot of discipline with a switch, razor strap, belt etc. and I deserved every bit of it, and I think it kept me on the straight and narrow.

My parents had a wooded paddle the hung on the wall in the kitchen cant remember exactly what it said but had a picture of little boy and girls backside on it. didn't get used much only took couple of times to decide it was easier to behave. I guess it worked I turned out ok so did my sister.

we had one that hung on the wall - never used it on us. I think it was too thin and mom was afraid she'd break it. She preferred the stick that she used to feed the clothes through the wringer. That was one hard stick.

If that paddle was like the one my folks had, and it sounds like it,

the saying said:

Pa is boss as everyone knows, but what Ma says always goes!

I was such an angel I actually got to read it! Not. LOL
