I went to an auction last week. They had so much stuff and the guy had multiples of many items. They sold four or five axes at one time. I was interested in a can of chain hook. They put it with six other cans of bolts, nut, etc. I did get a new hammer handle. A guy bought a basket of handles and I tried to buy one from him. He told me to just take it. It was still fun, just disappointing. Don't need four rakes to get a shovel.

Every auction I have ever been to that is the way it is done. They need to move through the "smalls" quickly or they won't get through what they have. They need a lot of guys in order to get the prices bid up and if they get known for presenting lots of little stuff and taking an hour going through $100.00 worth of stuff there will be far more unhappy than happy customers.

(quoted from post at 19:29:14 10/05/13) Yes but prices were all over the place. Some were high and a lot of lows too

Jim, it occurred to me as I was posting this that you would have been there. It was pretty much a spur of the moment thing for me, or I would have tried in advance to arrange to meet up with you. There were a bunch of people that I knew there through farming, pulling,, or a club that I belong to, even though I live about 45 miles away.

Sometimes I don't think. Left my camera home. That was a well run sale. I saw a lot of people I have not seen in years.
What ever happened to the guy on here ( I think from Maine ) Who wanted to get together for a greet and meet?

I"d love to find a 4200 diesel for $3500. Only 4200
I"ve seen for sale lately is a "67 or early "68
gasser (192 c.i.), average condition, for $5500.
