My pickup has started giving me check engine charging system warnings. The 1st time I was pulling trailer with tractor and brushog home. Didn't stay on long, did not set any codes. Did not do again for 10 days, then warning twice in a 30 mile trip, again no codes set. It is giving the warning about once a week. Battery is running 13.2 on voltage meter. alternator is showing to be charging at 13.6 rate. What is going on?

Typical charging system voltage is 13.2 - 14.8. Turn on all electrical loads and see if voltage is within that range at 2,000 RPM and if your light comes on. Then let it idle and check the voltage.

idle speed, alt 13.2 no load, 2000 rpm no load 14.4, 2000 rpm with lights on and air going full blast, 13.6 volts. doesn't do the check voltage but 0ne every 7-10 days. I just don't like to walk, so trying to fix. So far, it has never set a code.
