When's the last time anyone's heard of any of the big 3 warranteeing ANYTHING with 140,000 mi on it? Says right in their (big 3 ) warrantee books they are not responsible for any corrosian caused by road chemicals. Toyota,Honda and VW will soon be the big 3.

You made me think of something this lady was drivining around this past election with these signs that said buy american yet she was driving a toyota. I thought how dumb so I heckled her and said you buy american then she proclaimed that gm came into her home and took her money. My answer was that japan killed all are grand fathers then we rebuilt all there factorys.... Shut her up... Rember we blew all there factorys up then payed to rebuild them germans to how quick we forget that.

Toyota and VW are already in the big 3 with GM. Diamler isn't even close to being in the big 3, nor do they deserve to. Bunch of Italian designed and engineered crap

Does anyone know why they are rusting out? Poor product material or in the process somehow. To your mention on US products they just don't have that problem anymore. At least not enough for the almighty news media to find out.

Story in the car magazines said those frames were box frames with holes on top to let salt and water /mud in, but no way for the stuff to wash / drain out. Thats why Toyota is not too keen on building more box frames.

I dont know if the replaced frames are improved to lessen the problem or what ?

seems I remember that the problem years were Tacoma 95-2005.
