Oliver 1750 gas cooling system problem

I just bought an Oliver 1750 gas tractor and just changed radiator fluid and now after I run the tractor and get it warm it leaks out the overflow tube quite a bit. It doesnt overheat or anything bad and I have ran it several times and get same thing. Any ideas what is going on?

You may be over filling the radiator. Lower the fluid level to allow for expansion when the coolant gets hot. Hal

What Hal says...

With the engine cold the coolant should be only about 1/2" deep in the top tank (ie. just covering the radiator tubes). Any more than than will get blown out the overflow when it gets to working temperature.

My wife's MasseyFerguson diesel does the same. If I leave an inch or so of space, will not overflow. However, if I let it get down a little from that, overheating and overflow happen. Have beeen considering an extra overflow tank and a 2 way cap like automobiles have.

Let it over flow once, and good to go. It"s just the way it is with any Oliver I"ve had. They like low reservoir level when cold.
