Ford f350 4x4 hubs questions?? I need some advice..

I"ve been limping along my 03 f350 with the stock hubs they like to stick and sometimes don"t engage.. I don"t use 4x4 that much and would pull them and grease them.. Looking at it today the hub is gone but retainer is still there.. Assuming it flew out in highway.. The splines look fine.. Is it ok to drive like this until my warn hubs get here? Please let me know...

better get advise from qualified personal after an inspection... dont want to be responsible for unsafe vehicle on road...u know what i mean nowadays. but if your using it as a tractor on farm it should hold out.

Tap the end up so that dirt/water can't get in and drive on. The locking hub has nothing to do with the wheel bearings or anything.

IF the retainer and nuts that hold the hub and bearings in are still there you are probably fine other than all the dirt and water you will get inside the hub that could damage the bearings. This is assuming all you lost is the locking hub the makes the front axle lock in. A little 100 MPH tape will help keep things out until your new hubs come in. Then pull the rotors and hub assembly's off and clean and repack bearings before installing your new locking hubs.

It's a sealed bearing/hub assembly, nothing to repack. As long as the snap ring that holds the axle is still on it should be driveable, but I would duct tape it just to keep debris out .

The hub doesn't really do anything. My truck was run for a few years with the guts removed and just the cap on to keep dirt out.

Should add, mine is a 2001 superduty. Bought the 80$ milemarker hubs from summit racing after getting a price of 800$ for one dealer hub!
