Non - Farm Related Death.

I have 2 major interests in my life.
1) Farming
2) Flying

On Thursday August 22nd the Aviation world lost one of the most recognized names in Aviation due to Cancer. The founder of the EAA (Experimental Aircraft Association) Paul Poberezny (1921 - 2013) of Oshkosh, WI. WWII, & Korean War Veteran went on to create, & establish the largest airshow in the US at Oshkosh around the last week of July every year.

I only saw him in person from a short distance several times; but always liked to hear him speak when he did. I mention this because farmers across the Wisconsin countryside knows when large flights (25 - 100 planes) would roar 1 after another across there farms, or even in groups of 3, or 4; spaced a 1/4 mile apart or so, & would last for several minutes that way. There are videos on YouTube of people pulling over to film these armadas of aircraft flying over to, & from the airshow which lasts a full week, & boasts around 10,000 aircraft.

Gone less than a day, & I miss him already. My Heart goes out to the family, & the friends He made in his exceptional endeavors in His life. May God Bless, & comfort those in morning!

I'm sorry to hear of his death. I go to Sun 'n Fun every year to drive tractors pulling the trams, and there is a street there named after Mr. Poberezny.

He will be missed. I too love farming and flying. And of course everything in between. I have been to the Oshkosh EAA. What fun flying into there.
