Seen these trailers forsale in tractorhouse, does anyone have one? Are they good bad or otherwise. Let me know what you guys know about them? looking into a 14,000# or 17,000# 24 foot tandem axle single wheel.

They are a good trailer. Just like many others out there. I usually shop price and features when buying a trailer. The name means very little. There are smaller companies that built good trailers and large ones that build junk. So it is up to you to look at the trailer you are thinking of buying and make your choice.

Buddy of mine bought a mainline lightly built trailer. It is not very well made but it works great for him as he never has much weight on it. So the cost saving worked well for him.

I don't have a Kaufman trailer myself but have known a few customers that have different types of them. That said I tend to look over trailers pretty good when I look at them to get ideas to incorporate into my own when I get time, and from what I have seen of them, Kaufman has a pretty well built trailer.

We have a 20+5 Kaufman goose neck. We have had it for 10 years or so and have had 0 issues with it it pulls good. Ares is a tandem axle 14000 gvw pull it with f350's haul tractors and small equipment. Sometimes its stored inside sometimes outside. Haven't really had to replace anything or had any major repairs needed on it.

I have a 14000 lb Big Tex that I am not over joyed with, I could have bought other trailers cheaper. It is poorly painted, paint is soft and peeling in spots. Tires have no brand what so ever or contry of orgin on them. It is easy to figure out where they came from though.

I have a 30ft kaufman I bought used 5 years ago, so far no complaint's. It is a tandem axle with single wheels, 14,000lb. The nice thing about it is the beaver tail lifts up to give you 30ft of flat bed trailer for hauling hay or long peices of pipe or whatever. It's not the heaviest built trailer I've seen but is not the cheapest either. John

Hi
glad you asked the question Kaufman is what I was wondering about.. I am looking for a trailer and can"t find a sensible priced used one round me in Manitoba ,Canada. most guys round me want 6-$7000 for a 6 year or older trailer that never cost that new, and has hauled military tanks the way they are worn and bent to @H!T !. these seem to be a little more money but new!
A few guys have told me buy light well engineered trailers, they say all these heavy I beam frame and cross member trailers are ok, but at 14,000lb the trailer weighing 5000lb plus empty really messes the load capacity up!.
The saying round us is yeah it"s 30ft 14000lb but it"s so heavy empty all you can legally carry is 2 bags of sugar, and 2 chains and binders to hold it on!. Remember the laws and DOT are getting crazy so that extra weight might hurt you at an inspection/ scale stop!
Regards Robert

Been in business for well over 30 years that should speak for itself. One of the better built trailers for the money.

I've got a triple axle 30 footer. 8 years old, no problems whatsoever. I'd buy another, if I needed one.

I have not owned one but a friend had one that looked very well built. I especially liked the low profile set-up with the cut out wheel wells.

A neighbor has one. Best thing about it is that you can buy it directly from the manufacturer and cut out the middle man. I've inspected it and it is a good trailer.
