Second cutting

We are at 7190', so second cutting. short this year. JD 4430, 9' Kuhn. First time I have ran a disk swather. I like it. They jumped up the last minute.

You'll like that Kuhn cutter. Hint: A kuhn disc MOCO was in a shop I was working in briefly. The owner had filled the cutterbar with oil, all the way to the top of the hole. The pressure it developed ruined the whole cutterbar. It was cheaper to buy a new cutterbar than to rebuild the old one. As you probably know, with a 3ph cutterbar you raise the bar and put oil in until it runs out of the hole, which is about 1/4 distance from the bottom of the bar, probably varying with different makes. For the Kuhn swather in which the bar stays level, I don't know the procedure but its not to completly fill it. Refer to manual. Factory reps say those gearbed cutterbars last longer a little low on oil than over filled.
