Mowing this time of year

As you see on television it is fire season here on the Left coast. All the mowing for fire protecton should be done by now, but some people wait. I am mowing a large area. The fire dept only allows mowing up to 11:00 am. Which is fine with me. I can get in around four hours. This is my only job now,so I can relax in the afternoon. I mounted a 2 1/2 gal water extinguisher, and I have a small one for my tractor. Stan

In a normal year by this time in August here in Tennessee we are mowing the yard about ever two weeks. This year it has been so wet that the yards are having to be mowed ever 5 days or so.
In my 70 years cannot remember a July and August this wet. I think if a man had put enough fertilizer under corn he could have had some record breaking yields and we may anyway. Been getting about 3 tenths of an inch in showers about ever day along with some heavy rains.
