Having trouble starting model A 1964 3-53 diesel
Turns over with a burst of either but can"t keep it running
not sure if all air is bled out fuel lines any help would be great

First of all. You are foolish for blasting a diesel with ether outside of a life or death emergency. Ether is what keeps engine rebuild shops in business due to early wear and breakage.
Is the fuel rack moving and the injectors not stuck? Have you pulled the rocker cover and checked?
If an injectors has stuck closed. You can be certain it will also stick open and cause a run away.
Replace with C45 or C50 injectors.

Make sure the rack is not stuck. Will be a small rod comes in from the governor housing to the top of the head. You remove the valve cover and make sure as the other poster says the rack is moving.
Break a fuel line and make sure you are getting fuel to the injectors.
