Farmall 340 Diesel

I have a Farmall 340 Diesel I am restoring. It does not have a tractor serial number tag. The engine number is 2012. Does anyone know how many they made and how to tie my engine serial number to the tractor serial number?

John: The Farmall 340 was made between 1958 and 1963. The diesel engine you have was added to the lineup in the 1960 model year which started with tractor serial #5411 and was continued through the end of the run in 1963. So, your TSN would be 5411 or higher. Recommend you try the Farmal IH forum link above. Some of those guys might have the exact info. The tractor serial # plate is on the right side of the engine behind the engine oil filter on the gasser.

Does it aso have the TA not a lot of 340D made you wont see many at a tractor show.

Casting codes are 1961 but they didn't make many from 61 on so harde to tell. No plate
