Long 460 Tractor will not start

Before using my Long 460 I put 4 gallons of diesel in it and it cranked right up on the first turn. Then after about 10 seconds, it died ..... just as if I had pulled the choke on it. I changed the fuel filters and bled the lines and it still will turn over but will not start .... even with a shot of starter fluid into the intake line.

Was it out of fuel or fuel off before you put in the 4 gals? If so it ran out of fuel and they are a bear to get fuel back in them. You will either have to keep bleeding the lines and injectors or get someone to pull you with the Long in high gear and it'll take about 200 yds or better to get it to fire up.Keep the tank full and never run it out of fuel.

We gave up trying to bleed my dad's long 445. Now if need be we pressurized the fuel tank and pull it down the road sometimes we gotta do it twice about a mile round trip

Is the fuel shut off valve open at the fuel tank? Also check the fuel filter in the lift pump to see if it is clogged.

My 3 year old gradson's tiny fingers found the valve on my 360, and I changed filters before I found the real trouble.
