QUESTION : there are 2 wires on the Kohler that I don't know where they go ..
1 wire a little heaver than the other .. it's Red and the other wire is Green ... they both come out from under the shield by the OHV on the same side as the starter ..
Is it Possible the Red wire has to be Hot when the Key is on ... I ask because .. I see a wire up by the Carb. { may=be it is red }
<>
It is a Kohler Command 18 Twin

Any advice will be appreciated....

On my Kohler Command 25, there's a red wire to the solenoid on the carburetor. It's hot whenever the ignition is on.

And there's a green wire running to the "oil sentry" (oil pressure) switch. It shorts the magnetos and kills the engine if oil pressure is lost.

Complete wiring diagrams for many Kohler engines can be downloaded from the link.

Put your request over on the Garden tractor forum
as you may be able to get help over there. I would call Kohler to see if they have a wiring diagram of your engine. Hal

Hows the garden doing ?? our tomatoes

Wires coming out from under the shroud should be the ground for the "magneto" to shut it down and the stator wire to charge the battery. That's what comes to mind, but I am not sure whether I am thinking about my Kohler or Briggs engines. Carb shutoff jet on the bottom of the bowl needs hot when the key is on as was stated.

Hi Mark, We have plenty of tomatoes and green beans. The rabbits and groundhogs ate the leaves off the late planting of beans. I caught several in my have-a-heart trap. Too many houses around to shoot them. That Chow dog we have has killed 5 rabbits when they sneak into the back yard. She can out run the rabbits. Temp is 59 this morning. We had the windows open and had to pull up the covers. Hal
