roosa master pump on 2020 JD

I was out working with my 2020JD when it surged like it was low on fuel, but when I started back to get some it died. I filed the tank went to bleed the filter but it was still full. The tractor won't start at all. No fuel in the pump at all. Broke all the lines, got fuel to pump but not in it. Any ideas? Thanks

my 4010 did the same thing last year and the pump needed to be rebuilt. As many explain on this site, open the pump timing window, if there are black granuals in the window, time for a rebuild. Before you pull the pump, check the flywheel timing to the pump timing and write down your flywheel position. There is a You Tube video on pulling a 3020 pump. Take a look.

I would set it to TDC on #1 before pulling the pump, and make sure it is by seeing the marks line up in the window.

How long since fuel filter was changed? If inj pump return line fitting is plugged loosening return line on inj pump won't help to get it started. Loosen the 2 inspection cover screws on inj pump and be sure rubber seal is loose. Then try starting engine. If it runs check ball in return line is plugged and needs to be cleaned..
