Will be traveling From Delta Co. to CottonWood Falls KS early August.Be taking US50 the entire way.Hope to see some YTers(Charles;Greg;?)along the way. Steve

If you have a need for any combine parts you should stop in Mt.Hope at Howard's. My hometown of Buhler also has Mike's Equipment - another huge combine salvage place. In recent years Mike's has also gotten into tractors - they had a Farmall 400 that I got the steering off of. Nice folks that I get parts from every so often.

You won't be too far from my farm when you are in Cottonwood Falls. CF is a thriving metropolis!

Ever read Prairyearth by something Least Moon? All about Chase County. Just kind of observations about the stone quarry, the blue stem ranch that became a prairie Preserve, etc. Interesting reading for local history.

I have family at Cottonwood.Dad lived at Bazaar, later just north of Cottonwoob on 50.Love that area! love to move back there someday! Steve

Heard of him and his books.Never had the oportunity to read them.Like I said below,I have family(Uncle/aunt,cousins)Been there several times....

When you are west of Hutchinson about 12 miles or so, you will cross Kansas highway 14. I live about 30 miles north from there. Wave as you cross K-14.

There is one in Pratt or Great bend I think. Enjoy your trip.
And for anybody that thinks KS is flat has never run US160 from Medicine Lodge to Cold water. Like a whole different world.
I have been through the Strong city area. There is an old caterpillar setting south of Strong city in the next own or was a few years ago. Didn't know if it was for sale and nobody around.

I used to haul combines through medicine lodge. I governed my speed by watching the temp gauge on those hills. Jim
