wow that is big, looks a lot like the one on tool talk lol!!! We have the best looking egg plants we've had in years!

Hello korfused,

I'm assured by my wife that she put away bigger ones already. Our egg plants are just starting to fruit, got some peppers. Beans and peas are late this year, so is our cucumbers. last year the storm cleaned us out. Hope to have a better year

Guido, never raised basil. My small garden is a no till. Never got the tiller out this year. Used backhoe to clean trash off garden and put that mess in mulch pile for flowers a few years from now. Made 12 inch postholes 3 ft deep. Used chicken wire to keep critters from eathing tomato and peppers. Put down last years grass clippings and have very few weeds to pull. My postholes are rain barrels. They are about 8 inches deep, fill with water and my clay will absorb it when it gets around do it. Add a pinch of lime and ferterlizer every few weeks. Only one ripe tomatoe. Need sunlight. Had plenty of rain.

Guido,

That is one big basil leaf!

YUM. Looks like time for Pesto on pasta. If you have never tried it - google a recipe, you may like it. Our kids love it.

Basil, olive oil, pine nuts (or walnuts) and fresh parmesan all ground together and served stirred into steaming hot pasta of your choice.

Hello sweetfeet,

My wife said she put away bigger ones while I wasn't looking. That sounds good with walnuts/ BUT!!!!!!!!!!!
She (MY WIFE), has been trying to fatten me up for years, unsuccessfully I might add. Excellent cook, she entertains herself laughing at the TV chefs. Most of her cooking is done with no written recipes, and there are many, many, variations of the same, all original ones. It would certainly make for a large book,
Here is an example. I barbecued some salmon fillets, after they were cooled, she pulled them, like you would pork, then made a cold salad with them. Juts added roasted pepper strips salt and pepper and fresh garlic, and of course olive oil. HE! HA!
