I did a little research using the pic added by MJ and according to my Case book its a 10-20 the 1st cross-engine model and one of the very 1st small gas engine models only 203 were made starting in 1915. now you know why it went for so much it was in great condition for its age and looked to be complete. if you want to learn more about this rare tractor its in Full Steam ahead under Cross-engine tractors.
I hope that the new owners knows what he bought.

PS aren't book great

I actually think the price paid was kinda low. Like you said looks pretty much complete. Things like the seat and brackets here and there would probably be impossible to find. But if you got fixed up i could see high 5 figures for it . They sell spoker ds for well over 25000 anymore .

Yes,MJ"s picture is a 10-20 Case which is quite rare and valuable.....I thought the tractor that sold for $7900 in PA was a 10-18..I have a link to the sale bill..
10 18 Case

Yes,two different tractors..The 10-18 Case in PA wasnt too far out of line at $7900...The 18-32 Case pictured above sold for $6500 in NE last Sept..A 10-18 is lots rarer than a 18-32..

I dont know where the 10-20 Case is located at but $7900 wouldnt touch it at a sale....Thats one rare tractor..
