OT Backup cameras

This is way off topic but.... My mother who lives on a farm with tractors, crops, cattle, ect. bought herself a new Honda Accord. She has approached me to get her a rearview backup camera as she says she feels kind of uncomfortable when backing. She is getting on up in years and you all know if Momma ain't happy what happens. I have done some pretty extensive research but I would rather have opinions from people that actually have them. What say Ye???? Thanks in advance.

I have one in my truck, that points at the trailer hitch and has guiding bars. I use it all the time when backing up.

I can't help with which one to buy, but if you're asking if they work, yes.
I used one in a rental SUV that you couldn't really see out of when backing.
It was very helpful, specially in parking spaces etc.
It does take some getting used to.
I bought an el-cheapo for my truck. I thought it would be handy
when hooking up the trailer. I haven't installed it yet though!

I bought a Peak one at True Value this winter. It was $50 with a $20 rebate. The screen is small with a suction cup that plugs into a lighter outlet, that has streaks sometimes. The camera was designed to fit on a license plate bracket and hook up to the backup wires with a remote transmitter. The camera works real good with a wide angle. I use it to hook up my gooseneck. For $30, what the heck. The ones on the tailgate and my van are much better and have sensors for distance.

We have one I our new Sonata. It is super slick. Ours shows yellow lines where your tire will go so that you can see if you will run over anything. When you turn the wheel it shows the arc that the car will follow.

I would have the dealer do it. It will likely sync with other options the car has.

I sure wish I could get one on the back of the grain truck when backing to the auger.

I added one to my 2012 F150 and like it. It has the same camera as the one that you can get on the truck. Has a 3.5 inch monitor sitting on the dash. would have rather had the mirror one but that was another $ 400. Mine came with good instructions and was easy to install as all the holes were already in the tailgate.

Have one on the pickup. Cheapo from Wal Mart, but works for me. Camera on a bracket at top of license plate, monitor on a suction cup on corner of dash. Both units get power from b-up lite circuit, wireless signal between.
For hitching up trailer the ball shows in center of screen, can spot it within 1/4 inch of where I want it on first try.
For parking, when the white line slides off the bottom of screen, the bumper is 18 inches away, right where I want to stop.
Being a retired diesel pilot, I use the mirrors to sight down the side of body for general backing, glance in inside & oposite side mirrors to check for objects & people walking by.

2013 accords come with the back up camera in the dash. It is useful. Trunk decks on these new style cars are so high you don't see as well as you need to .
