At the same place that I got the windmill set I ended up with this cart. Is bit an early shopping cart or what? It folds up for storage nice and its rusty for sweet feet as a bonus.

In Omaha you still see those in use quite often! When you live close enough to walk to the grocery store, you take this to bring it all back home!

A baby carriage for bad kids...
Some people in the city, usually the Russian immigrants, still use them for their intended purpose... carting grocery bags home from the A&P... got to remember to put the bread and eggs on top.

Russian immigrants in New York (especially Brooklyn) carry their groceries home in deep pockets inside their long overcoats-without telling the grocery store owners. One guy tried putting a big piece of meat under his hat. Trouble was, some red fluid started running out down the sides of his face.

My brother is an auctioneer and at the auction house we sell several of these per year. He calls them a " bag lady cart". Just a handy lightweight cart to tranport groceries etc so people don't have the problem of tryng to carry it all in their arms.

In addition to groceries Ive also know them to be used as a laundry cart by individuals in an Independent living facility with community washers.

I forgot all about those--my grandmother had one, although I never saw her use it. I think it was for carrying groceries.

When I was a kid we called them "old lady carts".

Every now and then you'd see an elderly woman walking home from the grocery store pulling one with a bag of groceries in it.
