Exhaust leak

Is there anything I can put on a 9n exhaust pipe to manifold leak or is this just a bad design? I have a good clamp and new pipe and she still leaks. Seems like a awful hot area to use permatex.

I've had success buttering maniflod/exhaust pipe connections with old time furnace cement before assembly. Also "muffler mender" putty from the auto parts store.

Just let the stuff dry a few hours before firing up the tractor.

Sealant not needed and nothing wrong with design if parts are undamaged.

Verify that the clamp is not installed upside down.

I have good parts and I know the clamp has a thick side and thin side. Guess I will try the red RTV and see what happens. Thanks

Design was used on 3 million Model A Fords and over 1/2 million Ford tractors. The same connection was used on the crossover pipe of my 77 chevy truck.
