best buy on tires 13.6-28

I'm in E. Tennessee and I desperately need a pair of rear tires for my Massey Ferguson 65. They are 13.6-28.

My tractor sees very limited use; only a few hours per month and only in my field and driveway (no road use at all), so they don't have to be top-rated tires.

Has anyone had any luck with any of the online dealers? If so, which one is best.

Better yet, does anyone know of a good deal near Knoxville, TN?

Thanks.

Usually your local independent tire dealer can give you just as good of price as on line by the time you add on freight. Plus you have better recourse if something goes wrong down the road.

There are really not many "deals" on tires now. The costs of the raw materials is keeping the tire price up. Even the cheap imports are not that cheap.

If you was a little closer to Greeneville I could tell you where to
go. I recently bought some 8 ply 11.2x28's for $240.00 a
piece. 12.4x28's were $290.00 so a 13.6x28 shouldn't be that
much more. The Co op here wanted $370.00 for the same tire.
If you feel like making a trip call Porter Tire in Greeneville.
423-638-9225. I believe they have a store in Morristown also.

found 2 for 895.00 with new tubes in Dyersburg,Tn.

No one can beat Tire Towns prices but its a long ways from
you..

Do a search on craigslist..Theres always lots of used tractor
tires on it..

JD seller, you are correct.

I may be inclined to order tires for my lawnmower on-line, but when it comes to something as costly and important as rear tractor tires, I want the reassurance of a trusted, local tire dealer, ready to fix any problems that may arise.

Alright, thank you all for the information.

Jason S, there is a Porter Tire in Morristown and also in Tazwell and Talbot. If I don't come up with anything closer to home, I might give them a try.

I appreciate it.

Another thought ,can you move up or down a size? I know 13 6
is a odd size for a tire manufacturer. By going to a 12 .4 or 14.9
your options just increased. And your price just got a lot better.

I don't know why a 13.6 would be an odd size, that was the standard 12 that was used on about everything above the little Fords & Ferguson tractors. I find a lot of that size in used tires but it is too big for me.
