Murphy's Law strikes again

I posted this in the "N" Ford forum, but thought I'd try here also. I just broke my "41 9N Ford in two. Just received a Sherman step-up trans. Yep- my tractor has the straight cut gears and the sherman has the bevel cut gears. Does anyone out there happen to have a straight cut shaft out of a sherman? I've been told that the 2N's had the bevel cut gears and I could change out my trans, but I didn"t want to go that far if I didn't have too. Any idea's or help would be appreciated. I've started trail riding with some friends here in North East Texas and trying to be able to keep up with them.
