966 High/Low linkage adjustment

I have a decent old 966 that will randomly pop out of low range. This just happens from time to time. Any suggestions on adjusting the linkage? I am hoping to milk her through the summer and then start looking at the detent rollers and tightening up everything this fall.
Thanks for the help

If you can't feel the detent snap in when you shift you most likely have a broken detent roller. When that happens the spring also falls off so you also lost the other part of the detent assembly. No fix to it other than the pull the shift cover and repair the linkage.

I found half of a detent roller in the hyd filter housing when I changed the filter. Will it hurt to run this as is for the remainder of the hay season? I guess I could try to fix it, although this will be a new adventure for me. However, if I can run it I would rather wait and it will be in the shop this winter getting some renovations done. Thanks.
