The Indy 500 was run today. How many of you even watched any of it?? Did any of you watch it all???

I did not watch any of it and would bet that I would not recognize the winners name either.

The race is a non event anymore. They argued and killed the Golden goose when they split. It seems like it is a bunch of European no names that race it anymore.

Hate to say NASCAR is not much better. They have killed any personality in the race with all the "equal" rules. Cars are slower and the race is boring as heck. They just drive in a circle until the last 20-30 laps and then race. So why not just have 30 lap races???

I would like to see a new race league. The rules would be a standard fuel, four wheels, and limit the weight. You could be as light as you want and as much HP as you could get. They are racing check books any way so lets see what they really could do. Maybe we would see some "new" ideas. Not the same old boring same old same old.

Like I posted earlier. A Brazilian race car driver from the European Formula circuit. Remind me why I should be excited he won an American Race on the American Memorial Day weekend???

I bet that ten pretty women mud wrestling would draw just about as big a US crowd. LOL

Yellow flag ending, what a joke. That's the best part of the race and they messed it up.

I believe it was a Chevrolet that won, not surprising when you consider that only two engine manufacturers had entered, Chevrolet, and Honda. I did not watch the race, had a much better time at a horse show.
Best Regards,
Charlie

Did not watch any of it. Really did not even know it was on.
Now if you want to talk about the road to Omaha we might find something interesting to talk about.

Nope I don't watch it, that's why I like horse racing, over with in 1.47.64, give or take for 9 furlongs! Lol

I agree. Both Indy and NASCAR are so boring and disconnected anymore I don't bother to watch.

When I was racing late model modifieds, our total rules were: 1. Stock sheet metal within the last 5 model years. 2. Engine same make as sheet metal. 3. Wheelbase proper for sheet metal. 4. Front spark plug no more than two inches behind a line across the upper ball joints.

Beyond that, it was run watcha brung. Creativity was admired, not outlawed. A car didn't look right if it didn't have some tire marks on it.

Wouldn't it be interesting to see NASCAR run under those rules today? Mayhem, maybe, but interesting.

I agree Indy died some when they split up years ago.

Watched the F1 this morning, watched and listened on the radio to Indy, and saw most of or listened to the NASCAR race that just ended.

The big nose fella deserved a win at Indy, he's a good guy, personable, funny, good driver. Glad he got it. Don't recognize too many names, and the few I do left the race pretty early. They say it was interesting because of the many lead changes, but basically the areo package they have means you are penalized on fuel ecconomy to be leading, so it becomes a cat and mouse game, not racing to be in the lead but racing to be 2nd place until the end..

Gets to be a long day! Woulda rather been planting beans, but the weather controller didnt want that to happen.

Misty day, with rain off and on, most of the day. Wanted to mow the lawn, orchard, and out building lots, today but was too wet to mow. watched some of the race, between naps in the recliner. Watching them cruise round and round, put me to sleep several times, and kept checking for the rain to stop. I saw the end and a Tony , Somebody won it.

Its memorial day weekend ive been listening to the race while doing whatever my folks wanted me to do 45 years ago and I still have it on and listen to NASCAR race too and still get the hogs pen cleaned or in my case bush hog. Geez do what you want today give It a break. Petty bs

Watched the last 40 laps of NASCAR tonight, just ended an hour ago, nothing about the 500 was mentioned. I agree with every one on NASCAR, why not just run 30 or 40 laps and call it good.

No I didnt watch either. When I was a kid iliked to listen to it. Great drivers back then A.J. Foyt, Mario, Jim Hill etc.

How long would they stay pretty. Or does pretty dirty count. I would go to the above mentioned mud wrestling.

Who cares?

Indy, like NASCAR, has been regulated to little more than slot cars.

Nothing to see here.

Mowed lawn, blew the transaxle in my JD 112, worked on my bike had chicken speedies for supper then went to bed. There was a race yesterday? Like buying a magazine and it's nothing but advertisements.
