Nearest Dairy Herd to NYC?

It always amazes me how close some cattle herds are to our major cities. That said, does anyone know what the closest dairy herd to Manhatten is?

Thanks,

I went to tech school with a guy who's family had the last dairy 'IN' NYC, near the Bronx Zoo, until the late 60's. so he said anyway. I will bet there is a place milking a herd, but trucking feed in and manure out, maybe within 20 miles north up the Hudson or east on Long Island.... seems all around the east here, in the city or country don't matter, it is how far you are from the bottling plant that decides if you survive or not.

I have seen the DHIA reports for New York State counties and have seen listings for Orange County just to the North of NYC. Not a bad deal as the developers get close you can get a king's ransom for the place and 1031 (IRS) your way to a nice larger farm upstate. In the upstate cities there are dairies within 15 miles of the downtowns of Buffalo, Rochester, and Syracuse. Cash crop operations even closer.

Durtchess and Orange counties, and over in NJ, Sussex or Warren, I forget, but if you go out Rt 23, north, it was still seemingly agriculture in the early 90's. Up the taconic parkway on the east side of the hudson there were farms not too far out. One of the locals near me got into the dairy business on the same farm his dad used to have a dairy, one of 13 farms on that road, was peddling milk down to Manhattan, but some snafu, might have been e-coli, shut it down, he had to find a job, dummy invested an inheritance into this, and another business, not a good investment to say the least.
