This old church is I guess in front of our pasture, when cleaning the barn Sunday mornings they would ring a bell, was pretty neat, this pic is looking out the south end of the barn, my pics below we're looking south toward the barn, then I went down to the barn and took a shot with my truck in it facing north were I was standing shooting south!

Best time of year, the apple blossoms are in full bloom just starting to drop petals here, there will be lots of apples this year, on the wooded side of the hill I live on, there has to be well over 2 dozen apple trees of all kinds from tiny cherry sized crab to full size, some tart some more palatable, the air just smells incredible in the valley here.

Billy I think your lower, warmer and a little ahead of us, we're just starting to have apple blossoms. I'm at 1450 ft elevation or so+_.

Billy,
Don't speak too quick! CBS6 Albany is talking good chance of 20s here 35 miles west of Jay, tomarrow night. With the lack of Bees and colder temps the Fruit farmers may have another bad year. I have my fingers crossed that the collected heat in my raised bed garden boxes will prevent any heavy frost damage. The spuds and peas have shot out leaves and the asparagus is producing daily harvests. The flower gardens will likely take a heavy hit though if we do drop into the 20s.

You are up there, highest point on this land is about 650'-0", somewhere in the 400's near the house. One thing I look forward to every year the scent of those trees, probably a week behind here, last year it was way early, year before more like this but because of the harsh winter, all the trees, apricot, pears and apple were in bloom about the same time, usually its in the preceding order, one after the other. Best time of year.

Not again, I hate when this gets screwed up, we had no apples last year at all. I have not seen an abundance of honey bees, though there were a bunch hanging around the garage, look in the blossoms and it used to be loaded with em, mostly bumble bees and some oddball smaller ones.

By contrast, country I drove through north of Alliance, Nebraska ten days ago.

Speed limit was 65, I had my cruise set on 74, and if I'd set it on 84, nobody would have known or cared.
