O.T. Other pal on the mend PIX.

Our pal was a throw away . No one wanted him because he was so big. Well we did.Every year he gets a checkup twice a year from the vet. After 8 years and two surgeries he is now back on the mend. He had a descended testicle so that counted for the first operation. As time went on, he developed a sebaceous cyst (size of a baseball). Last week it ruptured through his side. (not cancerous) and while he was under the vets cleaned his teeth and 3rd eyelid removed (vets term).Last photo is of his arm where the I.V. was. Hair is growing back quick. Now were waiting to have the stitches removed. Vets called to see how he was coming along. Real great caring group. Beats the other bunch that killed his predecessor. We have had our lap puppy now going on 8 years. LOU.

Our only dog at this time was inherited from people that moved and left him. He has found a home and is cared for but this Border collie is way to hiper for me at my age. As long as I am outside he will run all day long. Doesn't stop! Are they all like that?

Richard from SE AZ,
My sister used to raise shelties, lots of energy, real lovey pups though. They'll get accustomed to you and slow down with age.

Ours is a Long Haired German Shepherd,a big wuss,Grandma's baby, follows the son around like he's attached with a rope.lol. At 7 mo. he was already 70#'s of love.Been that way ever since.Great watch dog.He watches me go to bed, several times a day.lol.
Thanks for the reply,
LOU

chuckma,
Thanks for the reply, he is doing great. Day after he wanted to play and run,but Victor said no,not till a few days of healing. He is on a small amount of puppy pain pills,so to stop any pain after the surgery, and eye drops, and antibiotics.Surprising the resilient nature of any dog, although don't tell him I said that.lol.He is a great friend, never questioning loyalty. Trying to keep him around for many years to come,in good health.
Thanks for the reply,
LOU

toadady,
Is she doing alright? We had a few female dogs, even had a hound named Jenny also.Called her Jenny wiggles, cause she would wiggle from front to rear when she seen us.They say it's better for the female to have that surgery, dont have to worry about losing them to female trouble when they get older, with no puppies during their life.
Best wishes to you and your pup.
LOU

Ray Hofstetter,
kind reply, and Thank You. Everyone from the vet to the bankers, to anyone who see's him says the same.Very beautiful dog.We think of him as handsome. I always said," If I was as handsome as him, I would have to beat the girls off with a club."
When I was younger, the girls used to look at me and smile, now that I'm older, they look at me, and laugh out loud.lol.

He's resting now and dreaming good dreams,I guess.Pain pill eases him off to sleep-- for maybe 1 hour, then the tazmanian devil takes hold again.lol Like seeing him that way,as long as it doesn't hurt him.
Thanks again,
LOU

Thanks, Jenny is doing fine, she's a little sore, and isn't into jumping on the bed just yet, she's enjoying all the extra attention

Scrappers make the best dogs. All of our dogs have been scrappers, many that wander up looking for food, water, a place to sleep. Best dogs because they generally are so greatful. Just picked up another last weekend, a 150 pound, four year-old mastiff that was being used as a puppy mill. Bred non-stop litter after litter until she was of no more monetary use to the people, so they tossed her out. Well, she's ours now. Knows no words because she never had human interaction, but she's learnin. We have a labrador that is teaching her things she never knew before. I look at her like she's a brand spanking new hard drive out of the box. Doesn't know much but sure is storing and retaining everything she encounters. 150 pound pup. She's gonna be another good dog and addition to the household.

Bless your heart Mark. You're right, they do make the best friends, reliable and true.We had a 1/2 Shepherd 1/2 wolf, that we found in the woods, lasted 13 years.
You can believe that one dog will teach another, their ins and outs of weeding their way into your good graces. Some time post a picture and let us know how she's making out.
Regards,
LOU

What a coincedence Mark. This was our female that we got at 5 years old. Breeders didn"t want her anymore, cause she couldnt get pregnant. She had 28 pups total before we got her, at $1000-1500 a piece. You would think you would love the dog a enough to keep her around. Not them, got the dog for free, other than the cost to spay.

She is the brindle in front, fawn male in back.

Good lookin dogs Rick. Wish I knew how to post pictures. They called ours a neopolitan. She's similar to your brindle but darker.

My dog came from the pound, and has a thing for blondes. Blonde girl at the Mcdonald's window he ended up befriending, he goes to town with me on Monday nights for pool and she goes out to visit him.
He tries to talk to the blonde girl at the bank but she just sends him a milkbone. He won't eat them when the other girl sends them out.

Our Boston Terrier just had stitches removed from his third surgery for cancerous mass removal. Two were just on the surface but the second was deep. We keep a constant watch for the tumors, helps with the very short hair he has. I took the stitches out, just four of them, a little snip, and pull them out. He's 6 1/2 yrs old, the wife would be devastated if something happened to the little guy. We do get attached to them, don't we.
