Shanes Castle rally in Norn Iron tries to cater for everyone and has a
huge following in the vintage and classic car section....Where better
to find a DeLorean than in Norn Iron? But that flying Machine car
behind it is a bit dubious! See how many of these cars you can
recognise.......

What kind of delivery truck (??) is the second picture? It would look really good with my Fergie's.Think we could get it in the container with your friend's furniture for the USA? LOL

Micky, the van is a Morris camper van or people carrier/ mini-van. It is quite small but neat!

Love the Austin Healey Sprite. I owned a bugeye sprite that same color back in 1964. Put black rally stripes from front to back which matched the black convertible top. Car was a blast to drive around in with the top down. My best friend was 6'4" & I'm 6'5", quite a sight when we parked and piled out that little car. The family cat liked it also, used to sleep on the top.

I think that I spotted a couple of old Morrises I had an 1100 way back. I think that it was the predecessor to the Austin America which was imported for a few years in the seventies.

Sam, was the Delorean built somewhere close to you? One of the truly unique cars.

I'm surprised I didn't see any MGTCs or MGTDs there. Always wanted one. Did have an MGB that was one of my favorite cars. It was small, but one of the few cars I ever got in that allowed me to stretch my legs out fully. It was very comfortable on long road trips.

The sad part about these being...vintage... antique? When I was in New Zealand in the 80's all these were still daily drivers!
7's and Zephers were sorta vintage by then, but Bambinos- even the rovers, minis, and a 60's ford Escort was worth a premium! So were pommie made Triumph 4 doors.
I liked the Morris Minors more than the Mini's.... don't think much of the new mini's, especially the price! I believe there never was a deLorean in NZ at that time... sadly, I had a 'Vauxhall Victor Velox'.... not exactly a chick magnet...

No matter where you go, people love their vehicles! Thanks for the photos. In the 7th photo down, the yellow car looks like a Fiat, but probably not. But the little brown one behind it must be a Morris Minor. Friend of mine had one of those back in the late 50s. Just transportation, and that was about it.

Tony, my Dad had a Vauxhall years ago, I think it was built in the late fifties or early sixties. Little underpowered cracker box.

Great pictures- thanks for posting.

I remember my dad and uncle having a spirited debate in the late 50's about what kind of economy car to get- both were complaining about gas mileage (at 35 cents a gallon, no less). Dad was going to get a Volkswagen, which he did- but Uncle Howard said VW would never catch on over here, and would have no resale value- so he got a Morris Minor. And the rest, as they say, is history. . .

Great pictures and very interesting. That second picture of the of the van or bus reminded me of an early version of the Divco milk trucks, but wasn't one. Just the same, very nice.

Love the TR3. My first car was a TR3 widemouth in 1966, I tell that to people today and they go a what. Wish I kept that car.
