As of Sunday night, we accumulated 3.9 inches of rain in SC, most of it early Sunday morning into the evening. Finally getting some rain out of that weather system that has been wandering around a large part of the US.

nw al. had 3-5 inches over the weekend. 8+ inches above normal so far. too wet and cool for gardenering.

We're so far above normal now, nobody can tell what normal was. Right now, Rivers out everywhere. West. NC saw almost enough rain to fill that Ray's pool. I believe we're over by 8-10 in right now.

The weatherman says we are over by about 3-5 inches for our "yearly average" but I tilled my garden spot up the other day and 3" down it's powder dry.
I live about 80 miles from the coast in what is known as the "Big Thicket" area with extensive pine forests and multiple rivers and creeks running through the area and they are all well below their normal levels. It's been so dry here for the past two years that we need 8-10 inches over a 2 week period so it will soak in.
If the weather pattern puts a High Pressure system over us this summer and it just sits in one place we are going to be hurting.

Started here yesterday and dumped 4.6 out of the gauge this morning.

Norfolk and Southern workers were call out to a mud slide at Black mountain near Ashville NC. They were on the track in the truck. One worker got out and another mud slide came. He was killed and the one in the truck was able to call for help and he was rescued. Report said they had over 6 inches.

We are still very dry, but did get 0.22" last night. Chances for more in the next day or two. Our irrigation water is over a month late.

Guys, Recon we are as far behind the curve as ya'll are ahead in rain, IF...We were in a normal yr! We are in Severe Drought status... STILL! We are Dry and no real prospects of coming out any time soon.
Yes it is Spring and all things are green But we are seeing a change in the green even as I type this.
Afraid Summer will be as tough or tougher than last.
We are over 30 inchs behind here at the house or a full yrs worth of rain behind out of the last 4!
Thunder the Mid West Doesn't have a clue to what a real Drought is all about. Area lakes are less than half full. We are 4 yrs into this one Boys.
We haven seen enough rain to warrant keeping new windshield wipers on our vehicles. enough said, Guess I better shut up before it gets worse.

We need a national system of pipelines to carry the rain from those areas that are flooding to the drought areas. :)

Here in Oconee County, it has rained so much, a lot of the wheat and barley has fallen down. Gonna make it a lot harder to harvest.
One of my gardens will be the middle of June getting planted.

Been rainging here today since about 5:30pm our time. Couldnt finish cutting the grass. With all we had Saturday, and today I have a feeling Im going to be cutting grass whenever its NOT raining!

I am 30 miles west of Myrtle Beach SC. We had 6.1 inches from Sunday nught/Monday Morning 4/29 to Sunday Night/Monday morning 5/6. I plan to attempt to plant cow graze Friday and Saturday if we do not get any more.
