Hi folks! I am a new member to this site from NE Ohio. I recently purchased a 1970ish Ford 3400 tractor with the 753 backhoe setup with Auto Dig. I have been repairing/restoring this old baby and have it to the point that everything is working well except one of the "auto dig" controls. It is the "3rd hoe control" lever which controls the bucket movement. It will close the bucket but not open it. I have gone over all of the linkage and such and I'm pretty sure that my problem lies with the hydraulic controller/actuator.
Does anyone know if parts are still available to repair this as I can not find anything via internet searches? My local tractor place suggested that I just replace all of the auto dig components with regular control lever rods and get rid of it. If it comes to that, do I just remove all of the auto dig hydraulic components and cap off those lines, then install solid control rods in their place? Any help that you folks could offer will be greatly appreciated! Thanks! Mike "Boog" Powell
