Do you have any more pictures of that U Moline or any more info on it? Was it by chance a single block engine? I had one that looked like that back in the 60's with those fenders on the row crop model like that and have never seen them since. I have no pictures of the one I had.

LeRoy, My brother and I have a '47 Minneapolis-Moline UTU with the KEF engine and the big "crown" type fenders. We got it about 6 years ago from a guy in Hudsonville, MI who said he bought it from a "Jockey" and that it came from Northern Iowa. It has Char-lynn power steering, live hydraulics, distributor ignition and widened rear rims with 15.5-38 Co-op tires. Might this be your old tractor? We've never seen another one like it around here.

I was told the one I had was a 44. At that time knew of no way to find serial info. It was the single block, don't know model number but it was a gasoline tractor with LP gas heads and tested on dyno at 53 or 56 horse, tester had forgoten the exact figure. It had the live hydrolicks and also the live PTO with the disk brake that even rebuilding we could never get it to hold. And the drawbar sat so high that when we tried to hook it to the hay baler the platform wheel would not get near the ground so had to go back to the other tractor. Mine had 13 X 38 tires on it and I traded it to a dealer at Sidney, Ohio and somebody with no left foot bought it because of the hand clutch. I have no idea how long he had it or where it ever went. This was back about 1967. I just could not handle it at the time.

Sorry I didn't get to see anyone to ask about the "U" A cold and damp day. They did get to run the threshing machine a little though. A lot of people there. A good show in spite of bad weather.
