How does a guy go about getting old fuel that has turned into a jell out of a fuel tank. Its about 4 inches deep.

Add new fuel and stir it. Use a small amount first to try it. Just guessing it will work???

Well first off I would remove the tank. Then maybe try adding acetone or some kind of solvent to help. I've used gas in the past but I don't know if it will help when it's 4" deep. Try stirring it with a stick. In the end you might want to stick the pressure washer in there, spray around, dump and repeat.

I would add gasoline to it, stir good, drain, then power wash the tank out good.

I am assuming it is diesel.

It wasn't jell but it was thick and nasty that I got out of a tank once with a transfer siphon.

I agree with MSD, E-85. Let it sit and then stick an air hose into the tank with a rag around the cap. The air will mix it up so hopefully the old will come out. I had some that looked like brown puddy. That I also dumped in some MEK. I don't use bio-diesel on the farm, as I don't use that much fuel anymore and it will not stay mixed. Also the quality of the oil is not that good, not BQ-9000.
