I had to move a door from one side to another on a garage I own. The door was within 2 feet from the corner of the building and I just removed that short amount of siding to the right so I can go all the way to the corner without any additional splices. To the left I removed every other piece of siding. Now the new siding will go entirely across the opening(about 1/2 way across the garage) and every other piece will be staggered and look perfect. My question is siding normally is put on from the bottom to the top, but I have staggers every other piece to the left and when I reach the siding at the top of the original door how do I nail the piece below it and/or attach the existing piece. Any ideas on how to work with this situation would be appreciated. Thank you.
