I need to replace a banged in driver's door on my 91 Ford truck. It has the electric windows and door locks. Haven't started any work, but was wondering about the wiring. Does the wire harness plug in somewhere or does each wire have to be disconnected from a terminal block somewhere. Also looks like the fender has to be removed to get at the hinges. Am I on the right track? Thanks.

I haven't changed a door on that particular model truck, but all the ones I have
done the wires unplug either inside the door, just inside the kick panel or both.
Never had to take the fender off to get to the hinges either, normally just take the
bolts out of the door where the hinge bolts to it, or on some, pull the pins like you would a house door.
Re-skinning the door may be an option too if you don't already have the replacement door.

on those you gotta pull the door pannel and disconnect the wires, then you can unbolt the door with it open, it's no fun, but quicker than pulling the fender off, if you have some of those rat-sheet wrenches it will help
