88 Oliver Diesel Crankcase

Hello, I went to start my 88 diesel to drag the yard yesterday and the oil level was almost to the top of the dipstick. It has been sitting in the shop since last fall when it was fine. Does anybody know why this happened and how it can be prevented.(besides the obvious shutting off the fuel every time) thanks Tim

If I remember correctly they have a small fuel pump on the side of the block and I would venture to guess the diaphram has a hole in it allowing the fuel to enter the crankcase.
