snow plow on old oliver

Rod from KS

New User
Hi guys, I am wondering if anyone has any good ideas
on how to mount a snow plow on an old oliver 70. I
am hoping to use the mechanical power lift somehow.
It is a narrow front end. Thanks

I think the easiest would be to find an old loader. Can't think of the brand name noe, but they always look kind of faded pink and run off a char-Lynn hyd. pump on the PTO
Those old loaders clamp on the rear axels.

Dad had one with a pipe frame that hooked to the rear axle. He ran a pipe through the front cultivator pipe hole, ran cables over that and had the cables hooked to the mechanical lift.

Use both sets of through the frame cultivator holes (A piece of pipe through each one). Secure pipe in holes by screwing bolt up through threaded holes in tractor frame, and against pipe. Run a piece of steel (plate steel, "U" channel, etc.)from the back pipe, to front pipe, and out beyond front of tractor. Now you have the main frame for the snow plow. For attaching steel to pipe ends, you can weld to the pipe ends. Or better yet, weld a round piece of 1/2- 3/4 inch steel in both ends of each pipe. Thread the centers, and bolt the side channels on. Or, weld nuts on pipe caps, and screw pipe caps on each end of pipe. Lots of ways to put snow plow on Oliver 70. Just use the imagination.

You could fabricate a bracket for a electric winch from Northern Tools, Harbor Freight or Menards, ect. It would be live power, no stopping to lift. If you're still 6 volt, you could hook up a deepcycle battery for the short time you would use it.

Thanks guys. Can you still find loaders around for 70s? I would like to find a loader but if not I may just use cables hooked to the mechanical lift
