tractor batteries keep draining

I must have electrical short that I can"t seem to find as the batteries on my Oliver 1650 diesel
keep draining, especially in wet conditions.
Any ideas?

I would start by pulling a battery cable and putting a test light between the cable and the terminal. If it lights then yep you have a drain and then one by one remove wires like from the alternator/generator which ever it has till you find which one turns it off. If it does not light at first one of the batteries maybe bad and from what your saying it sounds like you have 2 or more batteries and if one is bad it can/will drain the good one

Same thing on my 1550 Oliver. Most folks refuse to believe me. I put a toggle switch in the big wire from it. Have to turn it off if it's gonna sit very long.

I have seen dirt inside of the alternator do this. It will conduct low current when wet. Just enought to drain the batteries when setting.

Unhook the battery wire on the alternator and see if the battery stays up. Also does it have an internal regulator?? It could be bad and draining the batteries.

I have had Battery drain problems with two cars. One was trunk light staying on, the other, electric antennae failing to turn off.
