todays find

Where are you Charlie , I am in S.E. Indiana and we are still finding the black ones but it is not a good yr. It will be another week or two before we find any yellow , white and grey .

Morrells, those call for some thick "T" bones and some baked taters !! Hope to have some here this year, but too cold right now.

Boys and I went looking saturday after all that rain (SE IN), none at my place either. Need that ground to warm up...

I've never seen this done. Are they around certain area? (bottom land-under certain plants-hilly areas) Do they come up through the dead leaves/brush or do you need to brush aside the things they grow under? Just wondering.

Drool, slobber, slurp!

Weather conditions, changing woodland enviornment and an over abundance of turkeys has all but destroyed the mushrooms here.

They grow in the spring on sunny - but damp slopes. They like to grow where there are remains of certain kinds of dead wood, or or certain kinds of dead leaves buildup. They will push up through the leaves, etc. and stand there proud as a .... But you have to look carefully, as they still seem camoflaged. I've covered an area several times, and there they were hiding in plane sight!
