They tried, it does take money to keep and utilize such a building, it just makes me sick to think that our government wastes so much money, yet a church, a symbol of all thats good and a place worship for all folks, one to marvel at and to just be in awe of everytime you open that door, has to be taken down, the money that is wasted, taxpayer money, a fraction of what they misuse could have keep this place going for years. I never thought in a million years they would take this church down, they just took down the most prolific building in that city and one that could be seen so prominently from across the river, people were all against it, fought the developer, the deeper pockets always win.

I seriously have to start avoiding the news, its just never any good, starting to spill over in my content here, don't want to hijack RB's thread, though there is a Kobelco in it LOL !

Right, just a comparison, really irony, waste over here, but starving over there, and there is legal delineation between the two, oil and water don't mix. I just find it shameful that some of the taxpayer money, and you are right, church and state, could not be put to much better use, even though legally this is not allowed, the billions and billions of dollars that none of us ever see 1/10th of a benefit from, what could be done, like keeping a church intact operating, for the community, well I've beat a dead horse to death on this one... guess its been on my mind, will have to check out the new store when it goes in, who needs a fancy church anyway when you think about it, must be human nature to want to fight practicality like we all do at times LOL !
